Native Vector Search in MySQL
This talk demonstrates implementing native vector search using MySQL and PHP, showcasing a practical alternative to Python-based solutions for web developers.
The primacy of python and dedicated vector databases for search might be due to the hype driven by enterprise solutions. But there are thousands of PHP and MySQL websites out there that could benefit from Vector Search. With an implementation of this modified from one created by Allan Pichardo ( pichardo.dev ) called mysql-vector this demonstrates the feasibility of native vector search with MySQL and PHP.
