Amazon Elastic File System
Amazon EFS is serverless, fully elastic NFS file storage: it scales automatically to petabytes, providing concurrent access for thousands of AWS compute instances (EC2, Lambda, EKS) via the NFSv4.1 protocol.
Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) delivers fully managed, serverless NFS file storage, eliminating capacity provisioning and management. The service scales elastically to petabytes and supports massively parallel access from thousands of resources, including Amazon EC2, ECS, EKS, and AWS Lambda. EFS Regional file systems provide 11 nines of durability by redundantly storing data across multiple Availability Zones (AZs). It supports high-demand workloads like big data analytics and media processing, offering performance modes (General Purpose, Max I/O) and throughput options (Elastic, Provisioned) to handle over 10 GB/sec and 500,000 IOPS.
