glTF
The glTF format is the JPEG of 3D: an open standard by Khronos Group designed for efficient, runtime delivery of 3D scenes and models.
Developed by the Khronos Group, glTF (Graphics Language Transmission Format) minimizes both the size of 3D assets and the runtime processing needed to unpack them. It uses JSON to define scene hierarchy and binary files (bin) for geometry and animations, supporting PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials out of the box. Industry leaders like Microsoft, Adobe, and Google have adopted glTF 2.0 as the primary standard for web based AR, VR, and engine neutral 3D asset exchange.
