OpenAI Symphony

Symphony is an autonomous orchestration framework that transforms project tickets into verified pull requests without manual intervention.

Released as an engineering preview in March 2026, Symphony shifts the developer's role from micro-managing code to overseeing high-level workflows. The system (built primarily in Elixir) polls task boards like Linear, spawns isolated workspaces for specific issues, and dispatches Codex agents to execute the work. It delivers complete proof of work: including passing CI status, complexity analysis, and even walkthrough videos of the changes. By automating the path from ticket to merge, Symphony enables teams to scale output while maintaining rigorous standards through sandboxed execution and automated verification.
