Qiskit

Qiskit is the open-source, Python-based SDK (Software Development Kit) for building and executing quantum circuits on simulators and IBM Quantum hardware.

Qiskit (Quantum Information Science Kit) is the leading open-source quantum computing framework, originally developed by IBM Research and released in 2017. It provides a modular, Python-based stack for developers to construct quantum programs using gates (like Hadamard and CNOT) and high-level primitives (Sampler and Estimator). The core Qiskit SDK handles circuit composition and optimization (transpilation), which is 83x faster than competitors. Users leverage Qiskit Aer for high-performance simulation or Qiskit Runtime to execute workloads on IBM’s fleet of real quantum processors via the cloud.
