Scality RING
Scality RING is a software-defined storage platform that scales to hundreds of petabytes with 100% availability for massive object and file workloads.
RING turns standard x86 servers into a distributed storage cluster capable of managing billions of objects across multiple sites. It supports native S3 and file protocols (NFS, SMB, and POSIX) simultaneously: a critical requirement for modern AI pipelines and legacy backup archives. Operators deploy it for massive-scale projects like 100+ PB medical imaging repositories or global content delivery networks. The architecture uses a peer-to-peer shared-nothing design to eliminate single points of failure. Data stays protected via erasure coding and replication, delivering 14 nines of durability without the lock-in of proprietary hardware.
