Wikidata API
Access and manage Wikidata's structured, multilingual knowledge base (over 110 million Items) programmatically via a modern, versioned REST API.
The Wikidata API provides a robust, OpenAPI-based interface for interacting with the world's largest open knowledge graph. Developers use it to retrieve, search, and edit structured data entities: Items (Q-IDs), Properties (P-IDs), and their Statements. Key endpoints facilitate entity retrieval (e.g., fetching Q42's data in JSON), multilingual label lookups, and authenticated edits. This RESTful design is the preferred method, offering a cleaner, flatter structure than the legacy MediaWiki Action API, ensuring stable, efficient access to a constantly growing dataset.
