AMD EPYC
AMD EPYC is the high-core-count, high-efficiency server CPU line (Zen architecture) purpose-built for data centers, cloud computing, and AI workloads.
EPYC processors are AMD’s enterprise-grade x86-64 microprocessors, delivering leadership performance and energy efficiency for the most demanding workloads. The latest generations (like the 5th Gen EPYC 9005 Series) scale up to 192 cores and 384 threads per socket, supporting 12 channels of DDR5 memory and extensive PCIe 5.0 lanes (up to 160). This architecture is a direct competitor to Intel Xeon, often demonstrating up to 66% more power efficiency and significantly better performance per watt. EPYC is the foundation for modern data centers, hyperscale clouds, and supercomputers, offering advanced security features via AMD Infinity Guard (SEV-SNP) and a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
