Web

The Web (WWW) is a global information system, built on the Internet, that uses a unified set of protocols (HTTP, HTML) to link documents and resources via Uniform Resource Locators (URLs).

The Web is a massive, interconnected system for sharing information over the Internet. It was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN to facilitate automated information sharing among scientists. The system operates on three core standards: HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) for document structure, HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) for communication, and the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) for addressing specific resources. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), established in 1994 by Berners-Lee, continues to develop the open standards that ensure the Web's interoperability, accessibility, and long-term evolution. This architecture enables billions of users to access and contribute to the collective knowledge base daily.
