DDBJ
DDBJ is Japan's official nucleotide sequence database and a founding member of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration (INSDC).
Operated by the National Institute of Genetics (NIG) in Mishima, DDBJ serves as a critical global hub for genomic data exchange. It synchronizes records daily with GenBank (USA) and the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) to ensure a redundant, universal record of life's blueprints. The platform hosts specialized services like the DDBJ Sequence Read Archive (DRA) for raw output and the Japanese Genotype-phenotype Archive (JGA) for secure clinical data. By managing over 2.5 trillion bases of sequence information, DDBJ provides the raw material for modern bioinformatics and drug discovery.
