The FINOS AI Governance Framework (AIGF) is a dedicated, open-source standard designed by the Fintech Open Source Foundation to manage AI risk in highly regulated environments. It delivers a comprehensive, machine-readable governance model, specifically addressing challenges unique to Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs). The framework includes specifications for 14 key risks and 16 controls, enabling financial institutions (FSIs) to operationalize compliance and safely integrate AI systems. Its core mission: streamline the onboarding, development, and operation of AI solutions, ensuring trustworthy and compliant adoption across the industry.
