Multi-Agent System

Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) are decentralized computational frameworks where multiple autonomous AI agents collaborate, negotiate, or compete to solve complex, large-scale problems.

MAS leverages a collective of specialized, autonomous agents to tackle challenges too large for a single entity. Each agent operates with a local view, making independent decisions while communicating and coordinating via established protocols (e.g., FIPA ACL) to achieve a collective goal. This distributed architecture ensures scalability and fault-tolerance (no single point of failure). Specific applications demonstrate its power: Amazon’s warehouse automation uses hundreds of Kiva robots as agents, managed by task allocation and traffic control agents to optimize logistics. In enterprise, MAS handles complex supply chain management, where agents negotiate to predict stock needs and adjust resources in real time, dramatically improving efficiency and resilience.
